 "In the state of Rajasthan , Kekri is situated in the Ajmer District."  Kekri is situated approximately at 25.97° N 75.15° E. It has an average height of 347 metres or 1138 feet.


     Earlier this city was known as Kankawati Nagari, named on the name of Princess Kankawati, But now it is known as Kekri. This city is a pioneer in the field of religious, education and games. Eminent scholar of jain philosophy Pandit Milapchand Katariya research work and for writing Kekri city is well known throughout the country.

      It is having mainly an Industrial Area, Agricultural Mandi (Market Yard), Oil Mills, Woolen Yarn Mills and some other industries.


     There are so many Mandirs (Temples) like Charbhuja Mandir, Bijasan Mata Mandir, Shri Adinath Digambar Jain Mandir, Laxminath Ji Mandir, Shiv Mandir, Kekradheesh Mandir, Mehandipur Balaji Mandir etc.


     The main source of water supply is Bisalpur Dam. Here for Bisalpur Dam Rajasthan's largest water filter plant has been established.


      It is centrally situated among Rajsthan's major gities Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, Bhilwara and Tonk. There is Govt. Sr. sec. School (Separate For Boys And Girls), Govt. College, Alok Science College, Gurukul Commerce and Art Collage, ITI. BEd. and Lots of other english and hindi medium schools. There are many other institutes also for computers and other courses like Krishna Computers. There is one health care Center or Govt. Hospital and other Private Nursing Homes are also nearly located to it.
